OMNI Energy Service's introduces I.M.P.A.C.T.TM, a major platform innovation that enhances safety and productivity
I.M.P.A.C.T.TM eliminates maintenance downtime on offshore rigs

On offshore oil and gas platforms around the world, once purified crude oil and/or natural gas is recovered, it is separated in various production modules and sent to shore. Separator vessels retain production waste (sand and silt) until they are manually cleaned by platform crews who dispose of the residue.

Historically, performing routine maintenance has required that platforms be shut down for thorough removal of harmful oil and sand residue. Tank and vessel cleaning has been a dangerous and labor intensive job, involving all the inherent risks of confined space entry, including exposure to toxic fumes and toxic production waste.

Additionally, platform revenue is suspended for the duration of manual tank cleaning-a costly part of doing business. To ignore routine maintenance will have costs of its own. Production levels gradually decrease as vessels fill with waste. On average, daily revenues from offshore platforms can run into tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars. Shutting down a platform's revenue stream is never convenient. There is always a trade off between loss of platform efficiency and revenue. According to published reports, up to six percent of revenue can be lost to tank-cleaning downtime, which can run into millions of dollars over time.

OMNI's new Integrated Mechanical Production Automated Cleaning Tool is designed to eliminate manual tank and vessel cleaning and platform shut in. Because the target vessel remains fully functional during maintenance, platform operators' revenue streams are not compromised during the cleaning process. I.M.P.A.C.T.TM dramatically enhances a platform's bottom line.

    IMPACT Installation
Set up begins with installation of two stainless steel augurs inside the target vessel. All I.M.P.A.C.T.TM hardware is industrial grade to withstand the vessel's toxic environment. Augurs are powered by an external "control skid package," which is portable - no power equipment is resident at the platform. For regularly-scheduled maintenance, OMNI deploys the control skid package, then I.M.P.A.C.T.TM crews attach power to the internal augurs, and the system operates until all toxic residue is purged. Crews evaluate solid waste residue, then load it by boat and deliver it to the platform operator's site for proper disposal.

For operators in the Gulf of Mexico, and around the world, I.M.P.A.C.T.TM represents a new level of operating safety and efficiency. I.M.P.A.C.T.TM eliminates confined space entry and the need to shut in production for tank maintenance. I.M.P.A.C.T.TM provides exceptional potential to platform operators and represents a brilliant new market for OMNI's solution-driven innovation.
